Test Kitchen/Decommission an instrument

From Wikitech

This page documents the process for decommissioning a Test Kitchen instrument .

When to decommission an instrument

While instruments that measure product health may be long lived, instruments that capture metrics related to an experiment should be disabled once the experience is complete.

Decommissioning an instrument

To disable an instrument:

  1. Remove the instrument code that uses Test Kitchen SDK.
  2. Remove the stream configuration . This will completely disable the instrument.
  3. Remove the instrument from the instrument list .

Schemas

At present, there is no need to remove schemas from the existing system in order to decommission an instrument. If you have a concern about an existing schema please don't hesitate to contact Experiment Platform Team directly.
