Clarification on installed versus active

"ZeroBanner (installed on all Wikimedia wikis) detects the header". I haven't checked the config, but this may be the case. Would you please verify? In any case, the zero-rating chrome is not added to projects outside of mobile web Wikipedia at the moment. --Dr0ptp4kt (talk) 15:08, 12 May 2017 (UTC)

You are right, the extension is only enabled on wikipedias. --tgr (talk) 19:31, 15 May 2017 (UTC)

Phone not strictly required for testing

"(you probably need to use a real mobile phone?)" - no, you can test with any device. --Dr0ptp4kt (talk) 15:08, 12 May 2017 (UTC)

zerofetch verification

"Verify zerofetch ran successfully (how?)" - the proof will be in Action API responses either as an end user or, if logged into the partner portal as an admin, when using the Action API to get all of the IPs across all of the configurations. But, you'd want to check with bblack about what mechanisms might be possible for verifying at a server shell. --Dr0ptp4kt (talk) 15:07, 12 May 2017 (UTC)

@BBlack: any advice what's the most effective way to verify it? --tgr (talk) 19:42, 15 May 2017 (UTC)

ZeroBanner internals

It would be ideal to provide a brief high-level overview of the inner workings of ZeroBanner. I'm not sure who is the right person to provide that. I have found that it is easy to guess wrong at what's happening and break things; e.g., this puppet change:

broke Zero banners on the web for a weekend.
