What about enabling getty on both machines, and disabling the one on the machine that still works once it is needed, just before starting minicom? They will probably be trying to log in to eachother, giving a few error messages in the logs, but that's not so bad as long as no loop occurs. This way you can use 1 serial cable to access either one of both machines when needed. A bit dirty, but efficient and better chance of recovery. -- Mark 17:42, 27 Jul 2004 (UTC)
